From Golfer’s Elbow to Ancient Medicine

I came to Chinese medicine the way many people find their path — through personal experience. In my case, it was golfer’s elbow that ended my massage career. A cortisone shot didn’t help, but three acupuncture treatments resolved the pain completely. That was the moment I knew this medicine was something extraordinary.
There was an acupuncture school less than a mile from my home in St. Paul. I enrolled — and changed the course of my life.

My path with Chinese medicine isn’t just professional—it’s deeply personal. Over the years, I’ve used this medicine not only to help others, but to heal myself.
I resolved my own dysmenorrhea and PMS, eased chronic neck pain and headaches, calmed the swelling arthritis in my knees, and restored balance to my body in ways I never thought possible. These weren’t quick fixes—they were steady, lasting changes that came from understanding my body’s patterns and working with them, not against them.

I honestly don’t know where I would be without Chinese medicine. It has been my compass for health and well-being, guiding me through life’s changes and keeping me grounded in vitality and able to recover from stress. That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing it—because I’ve experienced, firsthand, the transformation it can bring.

Learning the Language of Patterns

I began by breaking up the first year of school, tackling the Western medicine coursework first. That part came easily — which gave me space to fully immerse myself in what was truly new: the deeply layered, poetic, and precise world of Chinese medicine.

I graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2003 with a Master of Oriental Medicine degree. Besides this some of the most influential trainings I've taken have been:

  • 1995 - Graduated from the Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork

  • 1998 – Myofascial Release with John Barnes

  • 2005 – Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture

  • 2012 & 2016 – GMP, a two-year graduate mentorship program with a focus on diagnosis — twice

  • 2020–present – Ongoing classical herbal training with ICEAM

My Approach🕵️‍♀️

Chinese medicine works by identifying patterns that disrupt the body’s natural flow — and using tools like acupuncture, herbal formulas, and bodywork to restore balance. It’s both science and art. Structure and intuition. Pattern recognition at its most elegant.

In each session, I aim to meet you where you are: with care, curiosity, and the right tools for your unique system.

If you’ve been living with discomfort, confusion, or a sense that something’s just off — I get it. I’ve been there too. It’s why I do this work.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. We’ll follow the patterns together.

I’ve been practicing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine since 2003, serving the communities of Faribault and Norhtfield in Southern Minnesota for over two decades. In 2024, I felt the pull for a fresh start so I considered Fargo.

My parents live on beautiful Dead Lake near Dent, MN, and being closer to them just felt right.

When I began exploring the Fargo–Moorhead community, I quickly realized there’s a huge need for more Chinese medicine practitioners here. The Fargo area is nearly ten times larger than Northfield, MN—yet it has about the same number of acupuncturists.

That means so many people who could benefit from this medicine either haven’t had access or haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience what it can do. I saw this as both a calling and an opportunity—to bring my 20+ years of experience to a growing, vibrant community that deserves more options for natural, effective healthcare.

I moved here with my sweetheart, Efrain, and together we're embracing this new chapter with open hearts and a lot of gratitude.  Outside the clinic, I love walking in the woods with my three sweet dogs, doing my personal qi gong, or working on deepening my understanding of this beautiful medicine and natures patterns that we are embedded in (yes, I'm an introvert and a bit of a bookworm—I never stop learning).  I’ve been truly inspired by the vibrant culture and the big, open skies of Fargo.

Whether you’re looking for support with pain, mood, or long-term wellness goals, I bring 20+ years of experience, a deep respect for the body’s innate healing power, and a genuine love for this medicine—and for the people I serve.

I started working with Jenny Gamer of Pivotal Point 2007 for issues I was having with my arm. She was able to isolate the problem, and ease the discomfort I was having. She also offered exercises to be done in between therapy that were effective in maintaining the results from therapy. She is very professional, and gets to know her clients and their needs by effective listening. I have recommended her to several of my friends and family members who also comment on what good work she does.
